Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Review

After reading the first Harry Potter book, I knew I was going to read the second one. I honestly loved this book, and I laughed so much while reading it. Ron was so funny, and I couldn’t believe how cute little Neville was. As I read more and more, I felt completely drawn into the story.

The book felt so much like I was in the movie. I could tell how different the book was from the film, which was interesting, although sometimes a little sad because there were things from the book that didn’t make it into the movie. I still love the movie, though. It was perfect for bringing the magical world, friendship, and mystery to life.

In the book, I was horrified and shocked by how the Dursleys treated Harry. I felt so bad for him and couldn’t wait for him to leave their home and go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I can definitely say that I love Hagrid even more in the book. I loved when he came to save Harry, and I was so happy! Hagrid in the movie was amazing too, but I really enjoyed getting to know him more through the book.

I honestly couldn’t put the book down. When I was reading it, it felt like I couldn’t get away from the story—and I didn’t want it to end! I kept saying, “Just one more chapter,” until I realised I needed to go to sleep because I was running out of time.

Draco Malfoy was also interesting to me. In the film, I thought he was funny in his own way, but in the book, I found him even more annoying, rude, and cowardly. I couldn’t get his attitude out of my mind, which is probably one of the reasons I love his character. Let me tell you, there were moments when he had me laughing my head off. One of my favourite moments was when Ron basically showed that he would rather be a Weasley than a Malfoy. I was laughing so much!

I love how Harry became good friends with Ron and Hermione. I feel like Ron and Harry’s friendship is almost like a brotherhood. They do everything together, which I think is really cute. Ron made me laugh so many times, especially because of his reactions to everything happening around him. Hermione could sometimes be a little bossy, but she was also incredibly clever and brave.

I didn’t dislike Harry in the movies, but I saw him differently in the book. I felt much more sorry for him because I got to understand what he had been through. I also loved seeing Harry become more confident and brave throughout the book. At the beginning, he didn’t know anything about the wizarding world, but by the end, he was willing to risk his life to protect his friends and the world he had come to love.

The mystery of the Philosopher’s Stone kept me wanting to read more. I liked how the book gave me little clues throughout the story. Of course, I already knew what happened because I had seen the film, but while reading the book, I pretended that I didn’t know what was going to happen. It made the story feel like I was discovering everything for the first time.

Fred and George Weasley were some of my favourite characters because they always seemed to be causing trouble. Their jokes and mischievous personalities brought so much humour to the story. I loved that you get to know them more in the book. I also enjoyed Ron and Harry’s conversations, especially when they were trying to understand all the strange things happening around Hogwarts.

One of the things I love most about this book is that it makes me feel magical when I’m reading it. I feel like I’m actually there. From Quidditch and Chocolate Frogs to the Hogwarts houses and magical creatures, there is always something new to discover.

I also loved how the story feels like the beginning of a much bigger adventure. By the end of the book, it feels like Harry’s story is only just beginning, which made me really excited to continue with the series.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is such a fun and magical book, and I can completely understand why so many people love it. I can’t wait to read the next one and pick up my Kindle again! By the time I reached the final page, I already wanted to know what would happen next. If the rest of the series is anything like this book, I am definitely in for an amazing adventure!
